about usEstablished way back in 1983, Surge Computing Services Pty Ltd is a Family Business dedicated to providing support to it's customer base. Surge was initially formed to service the many people wanting to access Personal Computers in the early days of Computing. The Commodore VIC20, C64, C128 and Amiga were common-place in homes around Australia and the fledgling IBM-PC was making inroads into Business. George McKay (founder) is an IBM Mainframe Analyst/Programmer and has worked for some of Australia's major corporations, specialising in Financial Applications. Companies include; BankSA, Advance Bank, St George Bank, Mitsubishi Motors, SA Government, GE Money, NAB, Neller Software and Beneficial Finance. George worked in the UK for a few years (Equitable Life (ELAS), General Portfolio (GPLI) and Prescription Pricing Authority (PPA)). George was the Year 2000 Co-ordinator for BankSA and co-director of the Year 2000 Compliance and Remediation Services, providing assistance and seminars on the Y2K issue to SA Businesses. We continued to supply PCs to the market and in 2000 opened Duncan Computer Services at 106 South Terrace, Adelaide. With the support of staff including Scott McKay, Darren Keen and Kim Martin we concentrated on sales of hardware and software to the Education Market. The retail computer market is very competitive, and we found that we were unable to provide the level of support we would like, given the low profit margins, so we closed and concentrated supplying technology for the RV Market. Today, we not only supply technology for this market, but are satisfying the need for cheap and cheerful Websites. Check out the following (some are still under construction); |
